The prospect of a large-scale invasion of Rafah, where around 1.2 million civilians are sheltering, has sparked intensifying global alarm

Every developed country these days is struggling to curb the deeply embedded gun culture. Britain, Norway has had many a gun massacres in the recent past. The easy availability of weapons is one of the prime causes of mass killings. Allowing guns without some sort of control by the state not only indicates acceptance for violence and wide insecurities, but also it is extremely dangerous as criminals and people with severe psychological disorders can acquire them and use it for destructive purposes.
More often than not one is dismayed to witness the governments’ attitude and outlook whenever gun-massacres occur. The concerned officials visit the site, speak a few consoling words and at the most offer a bit of financial aid to the kith and kin of the victims. Such spine-chilling and devastating incidents will occur in future too and ‘the romance with guns’ will continue if stringent laws for weapons are not implemented. Radical different approach by the government may reduce such inhuman acts.
