Looks like the release of the biopic on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to hit screens in the UAE today (April 4) is deferred to next week.
According to reports in the Indian media, the release of the biopic, PM Narendra Modi, has been delayed. The film will now release on April 12 in India, which was its original release date.
The film's release was shrouded in controversy for allegedly violating the model code of conduct as the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in India will begin in phases from April 11.
With the opposition raising objections to the film's release so close to the elections, the film has been pushed back to its original release date, India Today reported.
In the UAE, PM Narendra Modi was listed for release today on April 4. We saw the show timings listed on the official websites of Vox Cinemas and Novo Cinemas on Wednesday but they were missing today morning.
Khaleej Times couldn't reach Novo Cinemas and Vox Cinemas for a comment but looks like the film will release next week, as per the Indian ruling.
The delayed release might come as an advantage for John Abraham as his film Romeo Akbar Walter (RAW) will get a solo release today.
