Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Yo Yo Honey Singh and many more Bollywood stars are set to give a power-packed performance in Dubai this March. Celebrities from Indian cinema will be coming to Dubai for the second edition of The Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) this year. The first edition was held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez who are currently shooting for Dishoom in Abu Dhabi made the announcement on Thursday in Dubai.
The duo seemed in a mad rush to leave the event, which left the attending media wondering how it would match up to the other international film awards from India, IIFA. And while we are the first to acknowledge social media has its own power, even we were taken aback when requested to conduct Varun's interview over Whatsaap.
How excited are you for TOIFA?
TOIFA as an award is very different from anything I have ever done. To be able to interact with the global audience at such a large scale is amazing. I'm looking forward to performing for the audiences here. Dilwale did very well overseas and there is no way for me to reach them and say thanks. So in a way doing TOIFA will allow me to do that.
Which was your favorite films and performance from last year?
There were some amazing films like Tanu weds Manu, Bajirao Mastani, Badlapur, Masaan and many more. I hope the good films get recognised.
How is the shoot of Dishoom going in Abu Dhabi?
Abu Dhabi is amazing. It is home to Dishoom because the film is based here. We are enjoying shooting all over the city. The official Abu Dhabi tourism has been very kind. It's been a very cool experience.
