Hamad Ahmad Sultan Al Rahoumi, who has been elected into the Federal National Council (FNC) for the third time in a row, believes the electoral process in the country has gone through a "radical change".
He praised the election, describing it as smooth and transparent.
"I have been participating as a candidate since 2011, and I can say that I witnessed a great progress throughout the years as to how it is being managed and how easy, swift and transparent the mechanism has evolved to be.
"How it has become entirely automated is also a positive indication that the past experiences have enhanced our knowledge in this democratic process."
The validation of the preliminary list is a solid proof of the "utmost transparency" that had been exercised, Al Rahoumi pointed out. "We all believe in democracy. No problems of any sort were recorded which is definitely a noticeable advantage."
Back in 2011, a voter had the right to choose four candidates at the same time, Al Rahoumi recalled.
"But that has been now narrowed down to just one vote. This simply indicates that every single vote is decisive and precious. It shows a determined rather than confused selection," he said.
For Sara Mohammad Amin Falaknaz, the announcement of the final results underlined the solid system of the process as a whole.
"We thank the leadership for their call to customise the political empowerment programme.
"The effective and large turnout of voters from all walks of life reflects the partnership between the leadership and the people."
Falaknaz sees the allocation of half of the number of seats in Dubai to women as a "great indicator of the confidence of the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in the Emirati woman's capabilities and contributions".
