His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has offered condolences to the people of Lebaon after a huge explosion near the centre of Beirut killed at 27 people and injured 2,500.

Writing on his official Twitter account, Sheikh Mohamed said:  "Our thoughts and prayers are with our Lebanese brothers and sisters during these trying times. We pray that God grants you patience and solace.
"God bless Lebanon and the Lebanese people."
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,  and the UAE's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, also offered their condolences on Tuesday night.
