ABU DHABI - Yas Marina Circuit’s Golden Ticket Winners got the F1 experience of a lifetime as they sat down for brunch with the Torro Rosso drivers, Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari; had a photograph session with Red Bull drivers, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel; got exclusive Ferrari and Force India garage tours; watched the Hispania Racing Team (HRT), Red Bull and Sauber practice races from VIP paddock club seats; and enjoyed Kanye West’s performance from the VIP section, a press release said.
The Golden Ticket Winners started off the inaugural day of the F1 weekend by checking into the breathtaking Yas Hotel, overlooking the Yas Marina Circuit, for a three nights stay. After which they were taken to have brunch with Torro Rosso drivers, Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari, in their team’s clubhouse in Yas Marina Circuit’s paddock area.
“It was amazing to sit down for brunch with Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari. They were very down to earth and shared some unbelievably interesting stories from their F1 careers with us. My husband and I can’t thank Yas Marina Circuit enough for organising the Golden Ticket Winner competition, it’s truly a great way to give back to the fans,” said Karen Spiteri, Golden Ticket Winner.
Following the breakfast with Torro Rosso F1 driver, the Golden Ticket Winners were brought to the F1 Village™ located behind the Main Grandstand, where they had their photographs taken with their top two F1 drivers of choice, Webber and Vettel. “Being up on the podium with my two favourite F1 drivers was one of the most exciting two minutes of my life. Afterwards, Yas Marina Circuit presented us with autographed copies of our photographs, which was a really thoughtful bonus,” said Golden Ticket Winner, Bas Timmer.
The excitement didn’t stop there, after the photograph session the Golden Ticket Winners visited Ferrari and Force India’s team garages where they had a chance to interact with the teams and get an exclusive behind the scenes look into the hard work that goes into preparing the cars for the big race.
The Golden Ticket Winners were also able to watch the HRT, Red Bull and Sauber practice races from the Yas Marina Circuit’s VIP Paddock Club and enjoyed Kanye West’s unforgettable performance from the arena’s VIP section.
Through participating in YMC’s online Facebook competition back in May, six die-hard F1 fans won a Golden Ticket, which entitled them to a tour of Ferrari World with Ferrari driver, Fisichella; a pair of Formula 1 Paddock Club tickets; three nights’ accommodation at the Yas Hotel over the Grand Prix weekend; breakfast with an F1 driver; pit garage access during an F1 track session with the opportunity to listen in on the pit-car radio transmissions; a signed photo with an F1 driver of their choice; an exclusive piece of memorabilia signed by all the F1 drivers; VIP guest tickets at the Amber Lounge, F1’s after-party — and more to come. Quite simply, an F1 experience money can’t buy.
The six lucky Golden Ticket Winners are Vincent Thang, Nelia Majrekar, Karen Spiteri and Bas Timmer , Scott Wynkoop and Priyanka D’Souza.
