Lisa and Philip went to a restaurant called Frankie and Benny's with Lisa's two young children on Monday. Her son Luca was getting restless as the wait at the restaurant was long. A waitress gave Luca a balloon and colouring books to keep him busy while waiting for their food to arrive. But Luca hit the gentleman sitting next to them on the head with the balloon. The family then apologised and requested to be moved to another table so the man was not disturbed while eating.
"The waitress gave him a balloon to keep him busy but he started waving it around and was hitting a gentleman on the head, so I asked if we could move tables because I wanted the man to be able to eat in peace," Lisa said. She added, "He responded saying 'no, it's fine' and was talking to us, but we moved anyway out of respect."
However, Lisa was shocked to find that the man had not only paid their bill of £70 but had also ordered extra ice cream for them. "I couldn't believe it. Me and my boyfriend both had tears in our eyes, it was such a kind thing to do," Wales Online quoted Lisa as saying.
The family had each eaten two courses, with Luca enjoying spaghetti and meatballs. Lisa added that the waitress came over with a huge smile on her face as it was the first time any stranger had paid a bill for someone else.
