Miss Belarus Polli Cannabis lost her iPhone 7 while shopping at a mall in Manila and soon to her surprise received another smartphone from an anonymous fan, according to the Filipino Times.
She thanked the anonymous fan during an interview on local TV show 'Umagang Kay Ganda'.
She is quoted as saying, 'I don't who is it but thank you so much. Small incident like that will not tarnish the appreciation I have for the Philippines.'
Polli took to Facebook to praise and thank the fan for giving her the phone and helping her connect with her friends and family. Several women participants from across the world come to Philippines to participate in the beauty pageant.
According to the Filipino Times, Polli was quoted saying, 'Dear friends! Philippine people are very supportive and empathizing, I got a lot of care and nice messages. I feel much better. Thank you so much! I borrowed a phone and now I can connect back with my friends and relatives. The are several bad persons in every country, but it is not a face of a nation. It could happen to everyone, so, please, be careful! I love Philippines and its people.'
According to a website called Bandera, the beauty queen was surrounded by a gang few men who tailed her as she was shopping in Manila. The criminals, who are still on the run, stole her phone from her bag.
