A Russian actress was dragged off an Aeroflot plane to Tel Aviv in Israel after she insulted passengers by calling them 'plebs' in an outburst due to the flight being delayed.
Lidiya Velezheva, 53, who is also a TV presenter, had an outburst of rage after she was held on an airport bus in Moscow for 20 minutes without a coat. The actress, who was flying to Tel Aviv to appear in a play, started a brawl with passengers just before take-off forcing the plane to return to the terminal in Moscow.
According to local reports in Mirror, Velezheva shouted: "I am an actress and you are plebs because most likely you bought your ticket for miles, and I got mine for 204,000 roubles (about £2,475) in cash." In a video shared on Mash, air stewards are seen talking to Velezheva who appears to be non-cooperative until police arrive and forcibly drag her off the plane.
A video also showed Velezheva being escorted across the tarmac and bundled into a van. The Boeing 777 later left for Israel without Velezheva on board.
Velezheva has featured in a host of Russian language films and TV series, including Idiot (2003) and August Eighth (2012).
