Pan-Asian affair. It’s funky and so are you, right? Zabeel House by Jumeirah, is home to LAH LAH which is asking you to brunch and be merry on New Year’s Day. Either from 2pm to 5pm or 7pm to 10pm, sit down to a pan-Asian spread with all the drinks you desire. Prices start from Dh295.
American dreamz. Yee-haw and all that, if you’re into Stateside dining there’s only one place to be on Friday. Perry & Blackwelder’s at Madinat Jumeirah is holding its regular Rock ‘n’ Rolling brunch with a live DJ and three hours of free-flowing classic Americana food and beverages from 1pm to 4pm. It’s affordable too with prices starting under Dh200 at Dh195.

Live entertainment. Hutong’s New Year’s Day brunch will debut the restaurant’s flaming Peking Duck for the very first time, accompanied by their acclaimed Dim Sum selection and signature dishes. As well as the food, entertainment will include a saxophonist, accompanied by dynamic beats from DJ Ivan Minuti. Enjoy yourself from 12.30pm to 4pm from Dh398 per person.
Fine food. Start the New Year as you mean to go on: in the lap of luxury. Hillhouse Brasserie offers iced seafood & sushi, small plates of mushroom risotto and Thai baked seabass in its brunch. That’s before you get to the carvery and live dessert station with a chocolate fountain, rhubarb and custard donuts, and sticky toffee pudding. Kick-off is at 1pm to 4pm and you can sit down from Dh295.
Thai high. Go sharing style with a Thai feast of green papaya salad and grilled marinated chicken sate for starters; a choice of steamed seabass and wok fried beef red curry for mains, and desserts of pandon crème brulee and sweet sticky rice at Pai Thai, Al Qasr hotel. Vegetarian options are also available including vegetable spring rolls, vegetable green curry and crispy water chestnut. Brunch is from 12.30pm to 4pm and starts at Dh245.
