Two young Emirati brothers were killed in a car crash on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road on Thursday.
The two brothers, identified as 21-year-old Mayed, and 11-year-old Saeed, suffered critical injuries and died due to the huge impact of the accident, sources said.
"The mother and daughter, who were travelling in the same car, were also injured. They were rushed to the Saqr hospital." The 45-year-old mother is still in a critical condition. She has sustained two serious fractures: one in her spine and the other in her chest; and suffered intensive bleeding too," sources said. She has been shifted to another hospital.
The 17-year-old daughter received bruises all over her body, but she is "in a stable condition, and will be discharged from the hospital soon".
The funeral prayer for the two brothers was held in the Sheikh Zayed Mosque at the Corniche Al Qawasim area.
Hundreds of people, both Emiratis and residents, from across the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah took part in the funeral prayer and burial function at the Al Hudaiba Cemetery, Al Qussaidat area.
Investigations are being carried out to ascertain the reasons behind the crash.
