Twenty-one people were injured in a horrific bus accident that took place on the Emirates Road on Wednesday night near the border between Dubai and Sharjah.
The bus was carrying workers to their accommodation in the direction of the Sharjah industrial area when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The Asian workers received minor to serious injuries.
According to a senior Sharjah traffic police official, they received a call from the Dubai Police at around 8pm, informing them of the accident. A team of rescue vehicles was rushed to the site.
All the injured were rushed to Al Qassimi Hospital and Kuwait Hospital.
Sixteen of the workers were discharged on the same day, while four are still receiving treatment. One of the workers is in the ICU due to the serious nature of his injuries.
Teams from Dubai Police and Sharjah Police cleared the road after traffic had come to a standstill for an hour.
