In his keynote address to the 1st School Accreditation Conference under the slogan “The School and the Community Form an Effective Partnership”, the minister said the project is part of the ministry’s development far-sighted initiatives within the UAE Vision 2021 which mandates schools to groom Emiartis who have strong and confident character and capable of pursuing the development drive.
“The Ministry of Education has gone along way on its path to improve its educational services in pursuit of a learning model that provides an example to other countries in the region as one of the modern integrated systems that infuses science, knowledge and values,” he added.
The conference aims to measure the impact of school accreditation in the educational field and its effect on the school leaders, educational authorities, students, parents, and all those concerned with the educational field.
The conference is a first of its kind for the Ministry of Education and represents a documented scientific reference for the school accreditation process and its development during the past four years.
Nawal Khalid, Director of the School Accreditation Department at the Ministry of Education, gave a presentation on the project.
The conference aims to show the reality of the school accreditation for the school along with all the categories it includes. The conference also assesses the school accreditation impact on the school environment and its role in improving the institutional performance level and in motivating the schools in accessing the best educational practices.
Nawal Khalid also said that the 1st School Accreditation Conference is entitled “The School and the Community Form an Effective Partnership” and it showcases the link between the parents, social activities, supporting parties and the school accreditation functions in order to raise the educational performance level.
Through the Accreditation Conference, the School Accreditation Department is keen on providing workshops for those concerned in the field which will help in determining their future roles. The workshop aims to explain the new roles and functions for the student, teacher, and school principal, in order to access the best international educational quality standards.
Steve Munby, Chairman of the British Teacher s Center, spoke about the latest trends in school accreditation and modern evaluation tools.
Professor Jan Chin Huat, from the National Service College in Singapore, informed the conference on Singapore’s experiences focusing on community partnership and its impact on school accreditation.
