Maryam bin Fahad commented: “I am keen to be here today among students because I have been in their place before, and I hope my presence will be beneficial.”
Initiating the lively chat were AUD’s very own talented moderators and Journalism students Rawan Al Mohammad and Abdullah Al Khal, who introduced Maryam bin Fahad. Their dialogue focused on her study and work experiences after her graduation, in addition to her outstanding expertise and continuous success in the media field. During the discussion, bin Fahad mentioned the criteria to participate and win the Arab Journalism Award, and urged students to benefit from the experience they can gain from the Dubai Press Club’ volunteering programme.
“The new graduates should be open to all opportunities even if they are not directly related to their field of study,” added bin Fahad.
The Media Chat session follows the previous gathering with Dean Ali Jaber, during which he explored the latest topics related to the Arab Spring, professional commitment, credibility and transparency of information, modern media, and job vacancies within the media field.
These gatherings, held on a weekly basis for the past two years at AUD, host distinguished media specialists, renowned producers, journalists and broadcasters; an initiative considered among one of the most important activities organised by the School for Communication, as they aim at benefiting students with the knowledge and expertise of media professionals.
