Dubai — Grade 10 students across UAE schools following the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum received their results on Thursday. Following a CGPA (cumulative grade points average) grading system, most schools reported good scores.
Arzam Harris, a student at Delhi Private School (Dubai), was one of the 23 students at his school who scored a perfect 10.
“For the maths exam, the questions were a bit different from what we had practised. The other exams weren’t as difficult. Most of the pressure surrounding exams gets built up by parental expectations. I was really happy when I saw my result. To future students, I would say keep practising and keep working hard,” said Harris.
A total of 94,474 students scored 10 CGPA. Of these 49,392 were boys, and 45,082 were girls.
This year, a total of 13,73,853 candidates registered for the Secondary School Examination. Out of this, 8,17,941 were boys and 5,55,912 were girls. There was an increase of about 3.37 per cent candidates from last year.
Adnan Pankhawala, a student at JSS Private School, also scored a perfect 10. Sharing his excitement, he told Khaleej Times, “I just jumped in excitement when I saw my results in the school’s IT lab. We really have to study a lot and there is always pressure when it comes to board exams. Understanding everything during class is key to doing well. My parents are very happy and it is a proud moment. Everyone is filled with joy.”
Students can access the results on www.cbseresults.nic.in, www.cbse.nic.in. CBSE is the national board of education for public and private schools and conducts final examinations for Class 10 and Class 12.
Girls have yet again outdid the boys. While girls secured a pass percentage of 97.82 percent, among boys, it stood at 96.98 percent.
