A worker has been jailed for life in Dubai for forcing a teenage girl into the flesh trade.
The worker was accused of sexually exploiting an 18-year-old teenager by forcing her into prostitution.
He was sentenced to life in prison by a Dubai court on Sunday.
The Court of First Instance earlier heard how the 44-year-old Bangladeshi man would take the girl, also Bangladeshi, from one apartment to another to make her meet men.
The accused had also raped the victim - a virgin at the time - and running a brothel in an apartment with a (runaway) Chinese female accomplice.
He would charge other men Dh100 for sex with the girl.
The police raided the Al Qusais apartment on September 23 last year - where illegal and immoral activities had been taking place in Al Qusais.
The court found the defendant guilty of human trafficking, facilitating prostitution and rape charges.
He will be deported after serving his 25-year-jail term.
During investigation, the victim said that the defendant had brought her to UAE on a visit visa in February 2018, and forced her into prostitution.
"I took the job as I was desperate for money. I told him that I was 17, but he changed my age to 25 on my passport," she told the prosecutor.
He took her to a flat from the airport, where he raped her, and told her that she 'was ready to begin work'.
"He then told me I am ready to begin work.
"He made me meet about four to five men a day -and he used to send Dh1,500 per month to my mother back home," she claimed, adding that he had sex with her repeatedly ever since.
"He had other women working for him at the brothel," the victim testified.
Three women, charged in the case for prostitution, confessed to working for the defendant. They would split the money with the Chinese woman.
They all said that the defendant knew the Bangladeshi victim's age when he brought her here.
A police lieutenant said that they raided the flat in Al Qusais after receiving reliable information regarding an 18-year-old girl being forced into prostitution.
The police rescued the girl and arrested the suspects.
The flat was divided into three rooms and a living room. There was a small camera fixed on the door, which was locked - it covered the outside entrance.
"The victim told us she learned from her cousin about the job. She said that she had to provide for her mother and younger siblings. The defendant managed to get her to travel after changing her real age on her passport," the lieutenant told the prosecutor.
