The fight broke out between the Russian and the Romanian women on August 14, 2018, and was reported at Al Barsha police station. According to public prosecution records, the 35-year-old Russian woman pushed the other woman and scratched her with a medal.
The other woman (Romanian) is accused of threatening to kill the first defendant while pulling her hair, choking her, kicking and punching her in the face several times.
She ended up with a broken nose and a black eye.
The first accused said that around noon on August 14 last year, she went to the flat to pick up her belongings, "As I was leaving the flat, I was caught off guard by the Romanian woman."
She recounted how she was suddenly attacked and pushed to the floor as she was choked, adding that the other woman threatened to kill her.
"I passed out and was woken up by a female neighbour, who stepped in to break up the fight and take her (Romanian) away from me. We went down to the reception. When I went back to the flat to breastfeed my newborn girl, the same woman assaulted me again for no reason. She slapped and kicked me all over. I called the police," the Russian woman told the prosecutor.
A police corporal said the incident was reported at 3 pm. "I found the two women in the hallway outside the flat. The first accused said that the landlord was not in UAE and he had instructed to not allow the tenants into the flat. The other woman then came and rang the bell but she did not open it for her. She assaulted her when she was leaving the place."
The defendant told the corporal that the other accused tried to stop her from taking her bag and told her to leave the place, which triggered the fight.
An Irish teacher, who witnessed the first defendant, lying down with her face covered with blood while the other woman was punching her.
"I informed the security guard. When I came back at 6 pm, I found blood splattered on the hallway and knew there was another fight."
The trial has been adjourned to April 2.
