Sharjah man files adultery case against wife in revenge

Sharjah - The 42-year-old Jordanian husband had accused his second wife, a 32-year-old Uzbek national, of an affair with a Lebanese man.

The Sharjah Public Prosecution has dismissed the case of a husband who lodged a complaint against his wife accusing her of adultery. The court found that the adultery case was filed in revenge of three cases filed against him at the criminal, labour and Shariah courts.
The 42-year-old Jordanian husband had accused his second wife, a 32-year-old Uzbek national, of an affair with a Lebanese man.
According to court records, the man alleged that he found WhatsApp and Instagram messages sent to a Lebanese man by his wife, while at his home in Al Taawun area on August 13, 2017. He also alleged that his wife sent messages to many men on various social media platforms "posing herself as a widow who is eager for a new relationship".
Legal consultant Hassan Elhais from Al Rowad Advocates, who represented the woman, said the husband was taking revenge for the three cases filed against him in July 2017. The wife had filed a complaint against her husband for physically assaulting her and her mother. She had also filed for divorce at the Dubai Personal Status Court. A third case filed against him at the labour court after he terminated her services from the company co-owned by him and refused to pay the dues.
Records show that on July 27 last year, the wife had called police after her husband insulted and beat her and her mother. During the police interrogation, the husband denied the charges and the case was referred to the court. He claimed that his wife assaulted him at his company in front of other employees. The case is still in progress. 
In the divorce lawsuit, which is still ongoing, the woman had claimed that the husband did not pay for her expenses from mid-2014. She alleged that her husband, who is also a partner of the company, earns Dh50,000 per month and spends it on women and alcohol. She requested the court to sanction divorce and a monthly alimony of Dh15,000, in addition to the Dh50,000 dowry he owed her.
At the Dubai Labour Court, the woman has requested for Dh60,000 in compensation with the unpaid wages for a year, Dh18,000 for arbitrary dismissal, Dh6,000 for annual leave balance, Dh8,400 for end of service benefits for two years and Dh6,000 for failing to issue end of service notice as per the labour law. The court had adjourned the case.
Lawyer Elhais confirmed that the Sharjah prosecutors have dismissed the adultery accusations against his client and the Lebanese man.
