Harry, a student of Jumeirah College, allegedly plunged to death from the 11th floor of a building under construction in Dubai Motor City on March 23 night.
The police said the victim’s body was found near a construction site below a building the next morning.
Friends testified that Harry was partying with them that night and had an argument with them, the police said. He was upset and he walked out of the party and headed towards the construction site and fell down, the police said. The police investigation and fingerprints suggest that Harry fell from a window on the building’s top floor.
Parents’ appeal
Harry’s parents, Nicolus and Beverley Harling, have made a heartfelt plea for more information about the night of the tragedy. In a statement released by them, Nicolus and Beverley said anyone with information from the night of March 23 and the morning of March 24 has been urged to come forward.
“We fully respect and support the Dubai authorities’ ongoing investigation and current actions being undertaken into Harrys’ death and do not wish to undermine it in any way. Therefore, no comment will be given at this stage, concerning case details. This is just an appeal as parents for any information, however small, concerning the night of 23rd March when Harry visited the Motor City Area and a building called Newbridge Hill 2. We were told Harry left his friends at approximately 12am and his last words, to a very good friend were ‘I am going home, I’m getting a taxi’ and he walked towards the lifts to leave the building. “Harry was found dead at 9.30am that next morning. He did not get a taxi. He died from a fall from Newbridge Hill 1, which is a fully completed building, ready for new tenants. Newbridge Hill 1 is part of the same building as Newbridge 2 and 3; you can walk from one end of the building to the other. It is a highly-populated residential area with shared communal facilities with toparied gardens, pool facilities, residents’ communal areas with a football green and major shops within walking distance, only 50 metres away for the Newbridge Hill and Foxhills Residents.”
The family is particularly appealing for information from anyone who may have seen Harry between 12am and 9.30am on March 24.
“Even confirmation that Harry was not lying at the foot of the building at a particular time would be helpful. This could narrow the time-line of Harry’s actual fall, and is obviously very important. We cannot understand that no one has seen or heard Harry for over 9.5 hours?” said the statement.
Harry’s happy life and bright prospects have added to the riddle of his death and heaped more agony onto his loved ones. “Harry was a bright, sporty, very happy, loved and loving boy who had an exciting future planned. He was delighted with his A Level choices for 6th Form at Jumeirah College for next year. He had also just received some of his GCSe exam results he had sat: four ‘A’ Grades in his subjects completed so far. He had fervent plans to join the British Army.”
Anyone with information relating to Harry’s death is urged to email to thetruthabout_harryharling_death@yahoo.com
