A 26-year-old man was charged in the Court of First Instance on Wednesday with molesting a nine-year-old boy, who happened to be alone at home.
The Pakistani worker is accused of kissing the boy and hugging him against his will.
The incident took place on March 19 and the complaint was registered at Jebel Ali police station.
The boy's 36-year-old Filipino father, who is an engineer, said his son called him around 2.30pm. "He told me a man (the accused) knocked on the door and when he was allowed in, he asked to see the water gallon. He suddenly grabbed my son and kissed him on his lip. He also hugged my child from behind and carried him," the father said in his statement to investigators.
The accused admitted to the CID officers to the charge. He was arrested on March 27.
He also confessed during public prosecution investigation that he molested the boy.
