Fujairah court of Appeal, on Tuesday, amended the verdict ordered by the Court of First Instance, but upheld its ruling which sentenced him to three months in prison on the charge of the death threats.
The case unfolded in November last year when the Fujairah Police Department received a complaint, from S.G., also a Gulf citizen, that R.M., had threatened to kill him, and sent texts to his wife N.A. Acting on the complaint, the police confirmed the authenticity of the report after downloading the short messages from the victim’s mobile phone.
Police officers arrested the defendant, and when they confronted him with the two charges leveled against him, he confessed to the alleged crimes.
He was referred to the Public Prosecution.
