The Dubai Police have busted a gang that specialised in stealing bank card data and embezzling money from people's accounts. Major-General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation, said the suspects purchased electronic items online and sold them to the company owned by the main suspect, S.S.
Two brothers, Kh.R. and B.R., stole credit card data and gave it to S.S., who then opened bogus online accounts to buy electronic items.
S.S. was arrested as he attempted to flee the country through a UAE border.
The police seized two coupons the suspect purchased using stolen credit card data.
S.S. led the police to the two other suspects. A fourth suspect managed to flee the country.
