Firoz shines for Nucaf
SHARJAH - Firoz Khan produced a brilliant performance to steer Nucaf Tellicherry to a 23-run victory over Lanka Lions in the 20th Bukhatir League ‘B’ Division Tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council, at the Sharjah stadium.
Firoz hit 76 as Nucaf Tellicherry, batting first, scored a huge 236 for eight in the allotted 20 overs. Experienced Nasir CTK (37) and Hareesh (35) were the other main scorers. Nadika and Lasantha picked up two wickets each for Lanka Lions.
Lanka Lions, in reply, staged a determined fightback, but stumbled at the finish. Murali (58) and Mahesh (30) batted well. Bilal and Shamsher were the most successful Nucaf Tellicherry bowlers, taking two wickets each.
