DPS Dubai retain cricket title

They defeated arch-rivals DPS Sharjah in the final. DPS Sharjah made 28 runs in the allotted five overs for the loss of five wickets. Gautami struck a crucial blow by removing the hard-hitting Spoorthy of Sharjah in the second ball of the match as they were restricted to a modest total of 28 for 5.

Shambhavi and Arushi took one wicket each. In reply, Dubai girls got off to a steady start with the UAE national players Malitha and Shambhavi opening the innings. They reached the target with both the openers carrying the bat. Shambhavi Gupta scored 14 runs, while Malitha Thirumalai made 7.

In the losers’ final, Emirates English Speaking School, Dubai defeated DPS Dubai B team by 10 wickets.

Monica of the Indian High School, Dubai was declared the best batswoman, Shambhavi of DPS, Dubai won the best bowler award, while Humaira of DPS, Sharjah was named the best fielder. Malitha of DPS, Dubai won the best wicketkeeper award. Sneha of DPS, Sharjah took the best all-rounder award.

The tournament was sponsored by the Young Talents Cricket Academy, UAE Exchange Centre, Al Marai and Leader Sports.
