Public and private sector companies in the UAE are shouldering the responsibility to promote and make the national vaccination programme against Covid-19 a grand success.

As many as 2,573 employees of Khidmah, Abu Dhabi-head quartered facilities management and maintenance company, have taken the first dose of Covid-19. This constitutes about 80 per cent of the total staff employed with the firm
Khidmah has a total of 3,216 employees and by the end of the week, another 579 employees will have taken the jab — bringing the total number to 3,152. This means that by the end of this week, 98 per cent of the firm’s employees would have taken the vaccine.
Abdellatif Sfaxi, CEO at Khidmah, underlined that employees “wholeheartedly” took part in the drive.
“Our staff are leading by example and were quick to sign up for the Abu Dhabi Government-launched campaign ‘Choose to Vaccinate’ out of their belief that together we are protected. We are proud of our team for taking part in this national drive that will save lives.”
Sfaxi praised the government and local authorities for making the vaccine accessible across the country.
“We are also grateful to the UAE authorities for making the vaccine widely available to anyone who wants it to stay safe, stay protected and contribute to global efforts to combat the pandemic.”
Mahmoud Gohar, facilities management supervisor, is relieved that all his colleagues have been vaccinated.
“I can sleep better at night knowing that I’ve taken the vaccine. My entire team has now taken the vaccine and we all feel much safer.”
Sijad Ali Barkat Ali, technician, hoped that people who are so far hesitant, too, will join the campaign.
“We are lucky that the vaccine is available for everyone who wants to stay safe. I hope more people will play their part and take the jab.”
Archie Guzman, graphic designer, stressed: “I feel safer in my shared accommodation, knowing that everyone I share a home with is vaccinated.”
Employees felt elated to be part of the government’s efforts to vaccinate the entire population.
Babyline Sobrepena, receptionist, said: “I can go home every night with the confidence that I’ve played my part in the community.”
Suman Saurabh, human capital specialist, added: “I feel proud to be supporting this national initiative to protect the community and help save lives. I encourage each and every one to roll up their sleeves and take the vaccine.”
In September of last year, 57 employees had also volunteered for the Phase 3 Clinical Trials of Covid-19 vaccine.
