Maintaining a social distance of two metres is strictly in place across the UAE as part of Covid-19 safety regulations to help the public stay safe from the viral outbreak.
Airports in the country are strictly implementing Covid-19 safety guidelines, too, including wearing masks and maintaining social distance norms.
To ensure all travellers are safe at the UAE’s busiest airport and the people are maintaining a two-metre (m) distance, the Dubai International Airport (DXB) authorities have come up with a unique idea. They are measuring distances with burgers and coffee cups.
According to DXB, a two-metre distance is equivalent to 19 burgers, 12 coffee cups and 0.025 m of the world’s largest airport Airbus A380’s wingspan.
Almost 18 million passengers passed through the Dubai airports last year amid the Covid-19 pandemic while countries were forced to impose lockdowns and borders were closed to rein in the spread of the contagion.
