The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Saturday reported 3,158 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, along with 4,298 recoveries and 15 deaths. The new cases were detected through 165,357 additional tests.

The total number of cases in UAE as on February 20 are 368,175 while total recoveries stand at 356,013. The death toll rises to 1,108.
The UAE has conducted over 29.1 million tests till date as part of the country's massive screening programmes to combat the spread of Covid-19.
In a statement, the ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment. However, the ministry has urged the public to follow all preventive guidelines. On Friday, the Federal Public Prosecution has clarified that principals of educational institutions and managers of establishments are obliged by law to inform UAE health authorities if a student or worker is found to be infected with a communicable disease, such as Covid-19. It has earlier clarified that anyone failing to report Covid infections to the relevant authorities is liable to a fine of up to Dh50,000.
As a part of a massive awareness program, the authorities in Sharjah have launched a large-scale campaign to remind the public of Covid safety measures and the need to get the jab. Awareness messages have been broadcast over the loudspeakers mounted on drones and police patrols.
Meanwhile, after a two-week ban which was put in place to curb the spread of Covid-19, Kuwait will allow all passengers citizens to enter the country starting Sunday, February 21 with some new procedures. Travellers arriving on direct flights from high risk countries will have to resort to institutional quarantine in one of the local hotels for 14 days, while travellers coming from the rest of the world will have to quarantine institutionally for one week and another at home.
