British Airways has axed services to more than 15 long-haul destinations next year including Abu Dhabi, according to the BBC.

The move comes amid the Covid-19 pandemic, which has forced many airlines such as BA to shed staff and drop routes given falling passenger numbers.

As reported by the BBC on Thursday, routes to cities in North America such as Pittsburgh, Calgary and Charleston have gone, alongside flights to Seoul, Kuala Lumpur and Osaka.

The Seychelles, a popular winter holiday destination, has also been removed.

Muscat, Jeddah and Abu Dhabi routes are axed, and BA will also temporarily suspend flights to Sydney, Bangkok and San Jose during the summer of 2021.
