SRK-Priyadarshan get jittery!

High-powered meetings and discussions have been taking place in Juhu after the bombing of the South film Kuselan starring Rajnikanth.

The reason for the film’s disaster was because it was touted as a Rajnikanth film but he did not have a large enough role in it. This left the Rajnikanth fan club hugely disappointed. Distributors felt the film also lacked the Rajnikanth action sequences that he is so famous for.

SRK’s film Billoo Barber, like Kuselan is also an adaptation of the Malayalam film Katha Parayumbol. In the film SRK plays Rajnikanth’s role in Kuselan.

So when Kuselan took a beating at the box office, SRK and his production house sat up and re-assessed the film. Suddenly there are urgent meetings called between the script -writers, director Priyadarshan and SRK’s brain-storming colleagues. They took an instant decision to increase SRK’s role. They do not wish to make any of the mistakes that caused Kuselan to flop.

The original Malayalam film is about the friendship between a superstar, who goes to a village for a shoot and meets a local barber. In Billoo Barber, SRK plays the superstar while Irrfan Khan plays the barber. Of course, SRK’s film boasts of Lara, plus three beauties Kareena, Priyanka and Deepika who are making very special appearances.

SRK has now decided to postpone his home production indefinitely which will give him enough time to make the necessary adjustments. With the number of films flopping this year, and money getting tighter, SRK cannot afford to take any chances.

This year has some heavy releases coming up like EMI, Golmaal Returns, Fashion, Dostana, Chandni Chowk To China, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and of course Aamir’s Ghajini.

The buzz in the industry is that Ghajini may get postponed to next year as well, as Aamir will be busy with the Oscars. Knowing Aamir’s post production publicity and gimmickry, SRK will now have to sit up and get ready for his toughest competition!
