and dance to her catchy tracks. So, it's little surprise that the makers of Karadi Tales got her to sing Karadi Rhymes which is, needless to say, a success story.

Now, Dubai is to reverberate with the applause as the evergreen Usha Uthup will launch Karadi Rhymes at Century Mall on Thursday, January 22 at 8 pm. 'In the Karadi Rhymes album, Usha Uthup's glorious voice celebrates mangoes and monsoons, festivals and families, colours and cricket - a celebration of an Indian childhood,' said Deepinder Kapani of Vanilla Music.

'Following the highly successful launch of Karadi Tales in Dubai by actress Nandita Das last month and the wonderful response from the media and Karadi fans, it is time for yet another high-profile Karadi event this time coinciding with the Dubai Shopping Festival,' said Kapani, adding that Usha Uthup will pull in a larger audience because she is a performing artist and has her way with children and adults alike.

Karadi Tales is a highly successful series, which brings to children stories and music from Indian culture. A host of Indian celebrity artistes have lent their voices and individual styles to the best selling series which has won a range of major international awards like the Dr.Toy award and NAPPA award. Though, it has been available through the back channels in the UAE for a while, it is now becoming regularly available through bookstores, audio-video stores, etc. across the emirates.

'It will be an evening of fun and music for kids and adults, where Usha Uthup will sing and get the crowd singing and dancing too,' said Kapani.
