IT'S A TRIPLE play of famous bands performing in Dubai in the coming months and they're all taking to the stage in one location: Irish Village. Emerald Isle boy band Boyzone, English pop-rockers Busted and Scottish twins with perhaps one of the most famous songs in the world, The Proclaimers, will all be gracing us with their presence over the space of a month or so.
First up it's Busted on March 14. Busted return to action with their fourth studio album Half Way There, which is set to be released this February. The opening track to the record, Nineties, comes rushing out of the starting blocks. It's a blur of big hooks, pure energy and light-hearted references to Macaulay Culkin, the Smashing Pumpkins and the "days of skipping school to watch The Goonies." The manic pace continues with fantastic tales of being Shipwrecked in Atlantis and paying tribute to Elon Musk with A Race To Mars.
Following soon after will be Boyzone on April 12. The now 'man-band' have had 20 singles in the top 40 UK charts and 21 singles in the Irish charts. The group have had six UK number one singles and nine number one singles in Ireland with 12 of their 20 singles in the UK being in the UK Top 2. Their show in Dubai, a part of their farewell tour Thank You & Goodnight, will transport you back to the early '90s with some of their hits including: Love me for a Reason and No Matter What.
Last up will be brothers The Proclaimers on April 25. Twins Craig and Charlie Reid emerged 31 years ago with their debut album, This Is The Story, and top three single, Letter from America. Their second studio album, Sunshine On Leith, took them on a nine-month world tour with a full live band in tow. In addition to the deeply moving classic title track which has gone on to be an anthem for Hibs fans, the album featured hit singles, the raucous and euphoric I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) and I'm On My Way.
Tickets for all shows are available at: theirishvillage.com
