Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of Dubai Cultural Council; Mr. Awadh Seghayer Al Kitbi, Manager Heritage Sites, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing; Mr. Saeed Al Nabouda, CEO Dubai Summer Surprises; Ayesha Mubarak, Manager, Dubai Museum and Mr. Mike Davidson, Property Director, Wafi Mall opened the exhibition amidst traditional singing and dancing. Guests were invited to search for pearls from live Oyster's using techniques reminiscent of the Pearl Diving trade.
Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of Dubai Cultural Council commented,
"There is much more history in this region than people expect. Housing an event such as Timeless Dubai will raise the awareness of the culture and traditions of the area whilst providing a very real insight of how far Dubai has come over the last 50 years."
Mr. Awadh Seghayer Al Kitbi, Manager Heritage Sites, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, agreed with the statement adding, "We are delighted to witness the opening of such a broad and varied event. I anticipate this will be a valuable and popular attraction for visitors over the coming months."
Featuring a number of exhibits ranging from the ancient to the contemporary, Timeless Dubai will provide a unique blend of education, culture, and history. Enabling the public to window shop whilst viewing ancient relics or learning more about pearl diving, the event is predicted to draw large numbers of visitors throughout the hot summer months.
Saeed Al Nabouda, CEO Dubai Summer Surprises commented "We are delighted to be unveiling such a comprehensive exhibition. Timeless Dubai will provide the older generation with a chance to reflect on the progression Dubai has made in recent decades. For the youth it will be an excellent learning opportunity, ensuring that our rich history is not forgotten."
