Suisse to start trade finance services in Geneva

ABU DHABI - In its first meeting in Abu Dhabi, the board of NBAD Private Bank (Suisse) SA, the private banking arm and wholly owned subsidiary of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi Group (NBAD), has agreed to set up trade finance services in Geneva which will be operational from April 2008.

NBAD Private Bank (Suisse) SA, incorporated under the Swiss Banking laws, also agreed to establish an advisory desk in Geneva.

The third board meeting of NBAD Private Bank (Suisse) SA was attended by all the Swiss Board members along with Qamber Al Mulla, Senior General Manager International Banking and Michael H. Tomalin, NBAD’s Chief Executive, serving as chairman of the Swiss Bank.

NBAD Private Bank (Suisse) SA, was launched in June 2007 to offer full private banking services aided by local private teams in UAE and in locations where NBAD operates. It offers discerning high-net-worth individuals tailor-made and state of the art private banking and wealth management services.

The Swiss board members, on their first visit to the UAE, were impressed with the city of Abu Dhabi, its infrastructure, and with NBAD.

The management was represented by the general manager, Khaled Suleiman, Urs Ruppli, chief operating officer, Claude-Henri Chavanon, chief investment officer and Simon Durrance, chief financial officer.
