A Daewoo spokesman said yesterday that the latest deal has brought the total number of LNG tankers it has secured to nine out of 20 large LNG tankers for Qatar Liquefied Gas since last year.

In a separate order, Daewoo has also signed a contract with a Greek Shipping Company for construction of two very large gas carriers for $192 million. As a result, Daewoo's total order book so far this year amounted to 32 vessels for $4.99 billion.
