Muscat Municipality Starts New e-services
MUSCAT - Muscat Municipality has launched a new range of electronic services to upgrade its efficiency and effectiveness in serving the customers better.
Using its Web site to support various formats like credit cards, short messaging ser vices, telephone and hotline, the Muscat Municipality aims to facilitate automated services for documentations required for various transactions and for making recommendations and complaints.
The SMS between the municipality and the applicant offers the progress of the applicant’s transactions. Customers can also inquire about the parking violations by sending a vehicle’s registration details.
One of the innovative systems being implemented is the e-payment system which links the the municipality directly with a local bank.
Another initiative is the self e-service package accessed through the municipality’s Web site which tracks the progress of transactions submitted to the municipality through the customer service management system.
The municipality Web site also provides other details of transactions online such as building permits, lease agreements, municipal licences, minor building permits and construction permits.
