With the changing consumer demands, brands are constantly focusing on technological innovation/advancements to deliver customer value. Most of the top brands in the consumer durables space for example are developing new products and services with exceptional technologies that help in improving people's lives, thus helping them to do things much more easily and effectively.
Eros Group, the sole distributor of world-renowned brands, works closely with leading brands in its portfolio like Hitachi, TCL and Midea to bring in products with innovative technology that meet consumer requirements not only in terms of features or price but in terms of quality as well.
Midea, the world's largest major appliances producer, is committed to becoming a leader in scientific and technological innovation in the home appliances industry. Never forgetting the principle of 'consumer-first technology', the company strives to establish a technological advantage through teamwork and innovation. Below are a few examples of the company's cutting edge technology:

  • Turbo Drying Technology: The Triple Fan system in Midea dishwasher enhances the drying performance. Moreover it also consumes less energy, which helps deliver on Midea's principle of environmental responsibility.
  • Infinity Basket: Addition of adjustable cutlery tray in the dishwasher provides infinite loading solutions for the dishes.
  • Magic Water Cube: The principle comes from the traditional hand wash method. Storm Wash technology subverts the traditional machine wash procedure by generating dimensional inner water flow, achieving a better cleaning performance and time-saving result. This improves cleaning performance and helps preserve the clothes.
  • One Touch: This unprecedentedly easy way of opening and closing a washing machine is particularly friendly to the disabled and the elderly.
  • 15" Quick Wash: Make the most of efficiency utilisation by increasing the beat frequency and reducing the dwell time. Speed wash shortens the laundry process by 25 per cent.
  • High humidity preservation system: By collecting evaporated and defrosted water, this system helps the refrigerator compartment increase humidity from the current 20 per cent to more than 60 per cent. This helps keep the contents of a fridge fresher for longer.
Niranjan Gidwani, CEO, Eros Group, authorised distributors for Midea, commented: "We are committed to continue delighting customers through innovations in the domain - be it introducing new products with value-based offerings coupled with advanced technological features, technology enablement, or service delivery. The company is therefore associated with leading players in UAE's consumer durables market like Midea which has made an exceptional position in the Gulf region. At Eros, the focus is always in identifying the right opportunity and the balance to make the offering a desirable one for our consumers. Midea is synonymous with Eros' vision in providing good quality products with innovative technology to its customers. Hence, in the longer run, together with Midea we endeavor to achieve and sustain competitive advantage in distribution and retailing by: industry leading customer satisfaction, while constantly pioneering ground-breaking products and services."
As an international technology group, Midea expanded its business scope to cover household appliances, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), smart logistics, robots and automatic systems and is also investing heavily in its R&D centres, with a focus to become a leader in scientific and technological innovation in the home appliances industry. The company has set up 17 R&D centers in 8 countries worldwide with a total of over 10,000 researchers and more than 300 senior foreign experts. The 'global linkage' of its R&D capacity has become a powerhouse for the company to form the global innovation pattern. In January this year, Midea became the principal shareholder of KUKA AG, a world leading robot company, with a stake of about 95 per cent. In late April, R&D and Innovation Center Europe (RDICE) of Midea was announced open in Graz, Austria; meanwhile, its Emerging Technology Center (ETC) had its opening ceremony held in San Jose in Silicon Valley, US and was officially put into operation.
Besides, Midea has pioneered a new worldwide enterprise innovation mode with its own characteristics - the 4-Tier System for R&D. It has also established joint labs through active cooperation with famous domestic and overseas colleges and universities, integrated global technological resources and deeply advanced open innovation.
As new technologies emerge, the future of consumer durables market is certainly bright. However, since change is the only constant, brands need to consistently make breakthrough innovation to create new products and services that consumers can't live without.
