'Marquis Who's Who', the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, recently presented the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award to Deepak Jethanand Babani, executive vice-chairman, Eros Group, in recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the 'Marquis Who's Who' community.
Babani brings with him many years of experience in the consumer electronics industry and is well noted for his achievements and leadership qualities. He first joined Eros as Marketing Manager in 1981 and a slow and steady rise up the corporate ladder led to Babani's appointment as CEO of Eros Group in 2002. He has been instrumental in the success of Eros Group and has greatly contributed in the business' accomplishments, the milestones they've achieved during their 50-plus years in business, as well as the company's future endeavours.
Speaking on this, Babani said: "It's truly an honour to be felicitated by such a prestigious award. I am grateful to 'Marquis Who's Who' for giving me this privileged recognition. It feels like yesterday when I started my professional career and what an incredible journey it has been. I still feel that there is a long way to go and I take each day as a new challenge. I hope to learn something new each and every day of my life and continue to work hard and deliver my best in the coming years as well."
Babani has spearheaded the company's long-term goals of becoming a leading supplier of electronic and digital products not only in the UAE; but also Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, Kenya and Tanzania. In 2006, Babani was rewarded with a Dubai Quality Appreciation Programme Award for his diligence.
