Travellers flying out of the Dubai International airport this weekend have been advised to arrive well in advance as the seasonal rush is expected to hit is peak.
Between Thursday and Sunday, DXB will welcome an estimated one million passengers, making it one of the busiest periods in the airport's history, Dubai Airports said in an advisory issued to help passengers ease their travel through the airport. By arriving early to the airport and using the smart traveller tips, passengers can beat the rush and breeze through travel formalities to reach their gates to enjoy amenities at the airport round the clock, it said.
The advisory included the following Travel Tips:
Arrive early at the airport-Take roads with less traffic and leave a minimum of three hours for check-in and passport control.
Stick to baggage rules-Irrespective of the allowance, a single unit of baggage weighing more than 32kgs will not be accepted at check-in. You should expect to be charged for baggage in excess of the limit set by your respective airline.
Liquids, aerosols and gels -Put the LAGs in your check-in baggage or pack them in clear re-sealable plastic bag if you are carrying them in your hand luggage. Each item should not be more than 100ml and the total content of all items should not be more than one litre.
Metal in hand luggage-Put watch, jewellery, mobile phone, coins, belt - into your hand luggage well before you arrive at the X-ray machine to save time at security screening.
Beat the queues-Check-in online, use the self-service check-in kiosks in the departures hall, and the e-Gate card.
