ADSB bags Esnaad Dh15m repair deal

ABU DHABI — Abu Dhabi-based Esnaad, which has embarked on replacing its ageing fleet over the seven years period costing to $200-300 million, yesterday signed a contract with Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) for the repair and maintenance of its vessels amounting to Dh15 million.

“Five UAE dry-dock firms took part in the tenders which was taken by ADSB,” said Darwish A. Al Qubaisi, General Manager, Esnaad, an offshore support services company owned by Adnoc, while speaking at a press conference on the fourth day of IDEX-2005. Under the contract, ADSB will provide repairs services over a period of three years.

Al Qubaisi said that his company is satisfied with the performance of ADSB who has been carrying out most of the Esnaad dry docking over the past few years with each job won through competitive tender.

To a question about Esnaad’s ambitious fleet replacement programme, he said it’s a seven year plan under which 22-vessels will be procured. Esnaad wanted to replace its utility and supply vessels.
