ADFS releases 14th UAE Local Share Directory

ABU DHABI - Abu Dhabi Financial Services (ADFS), a subsidiary of National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) has released the 14th edition of the UAE Local Share Directory, which included all vital statistics on companies listed in the UAE Financial markets that a share investor would need to know.

Saeed Mohammed Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, General Manager ADFS said at a Press briefing that the new edition was developed to include additional financial information related to the financial statements and financial analysis for an in-depth analysis.

"The main objective behind all our publication have always been to provide accurate information to investors, analysts, brokers and other related parties. We believe that the Local Share Directory will act as a reliable reference for those who are interested in the UAE market," Al Yabhouni added.

As part of its plan ADFS will develop another directory and research publications concentrating on the Gulf and Arab Financial Markets.

He said that the Directory covers 13 sectors instead of only three which were incorporated in the last edition, besides widening the horizon of the reference book by incorporating information on two foreign companies Sudan Telecom and Qatar Telecom, information on banking companies.

The financial information has been extracted from the audited financial statements.

For the benefit of investing community, the Directory has incorporated detailed information on balance sheets and company's short-term and long term investments; the financial analysis has been reclassified.

The Directory also valuable information on nine years corporate performance of the company or since its establishment; year 2003 Daily Price Trend Chart; four selected ratios have been presented in comparative charts; detailed corporate profile; and statistical information about the new sectors under the new classification.

Al Yabhouni said that the next edition would be more comprehensive as it will include the vital statistics on the Bond market which has grown during recent times phenomenally.

Wahad Al Taha, R&D Manager said all measures were taken to reach the desired level of accuracy. He said that ADFS has to play a wider role beyond the current one as the number one brokerage house in the local market.

"The new sector classification designed and used in the UAE Share Directory is important to provide clear and accurate information to the investors and much better picture to the analysts and brokers, it is also considered as an important step to have better transparency", Al Taha explained.
