Residents could soon get their visas through the Royal Oman Police app, a senior officer told Times of Oman.
The department is working on updating the app to have more services available in the future, Captain Ibrahim Saif Al Kindi, team leader of the smart application services at the ROP's IT department said the newspaper.
The app has traffic services and will soon have an update for visa services to provide info about visa status among other things.
"Now we will get the electronic visa on the app, and people won't need to go to our offices any more, just maybe for further details, if we ask them to do so," Major Hussain Ali Al Jabri, head of training, ROP customs was quoted saying.
