Women advised on healthy lifestyle

DUBAI – The Ladies Wing of Pakistan Association in collaboration with Canadian Specialist Hospital, Lunatus Marketing and Dubai Herbal and Treatment Centre organised a health talk for its members and guests at the Plaza Ballroom, Intercontinental Hotel in Dubai last Wednesday.

Dr Tazyeen Faisal, a well-known gynaecologist and obstetrician from Canadian Specialist Hospital, stressed that women should take more care of themselves and their family when they approach menopause.

Dr Emilia Khadur, an Internist and Nephrologist at Canadian Specialist Hospital, gave a presentation on obesity, its causes and harmful effects. She said that women need to adopt a healthy lifestyle to stay fit. “Today’s woman must be aware of the risks and consequences of being overweight,” she said. There was also a presentation by Aisha Kuwatly on the dietary supplement XL to S.

Dr Maria spoke about traditional Chinese medicines while Dr Sean Penny highlighted the various components of a healthy lifestyle. From the Dubai Herbal and Treatment Centre, Dr Miuli Sun performed Tai Qi and Dr Asha Rani demonstrated yoga for the women attending the talk.

The staff from Canadian Specialist Hospital carried out blood cholesterol tests and BMI check for those who attended.

Later, a raffle draw was also held. Winners were awarded gynaecological examination packages, dietary supplement for weight loss and cholesterol test packages.
