Anuradha Gupta, founder and CEO, Vows for Eternity, exemplifies the best of both worlds - on one hand, she is an empowered American Indian and on the other, a firm believer of being rooted to one's traditions and values.
She currently lives in Manhattan, but having also lived in Los Angeles, London, Melbourne and Delhi, she recognises that the challenges across the world are similar when it comes to finding that special person. She shares her thoughts in an interview with WKND.
Tell us about Vows for Eternity.
Vows for Eternity is a global ultra-premium matchmaking service, which is headquartered in New York and has an established presence in Mumbai, Delhi, London and Dubai.
Even though our members are based around the world, we offer a confidential and personalised service, connecting with every single person, which is the beauty of the way we conduct the search.
We don't work with biodatas as I strongly feel that people are so much more than what can be conveyed on paper. Which is why it's important to meet people and understand their personalities, value systems and mindsets and then match them.
The focus is on quality over quantity with a very strict eligibility criteria for all tiers of membership. We look at marriage as a partnership in the true sense of the word. It's about bridging the gap between the old and the new - a centuries old tradition with a dynamic and changing mindset and set of expectations.
What are the challenges that you face when finding the right person for your clients?
Although our members span the globe, what binds them together is the fact that while they are successful, well-travelled, progressive thinking and cosmopolitan in their outlook, they are missing that one special person to share their life with.
I've seen that now, more than ever before, people are delaying getting married and the personality fit and connect of values between two people and two families has become even more important and difficult.
Tell us more about your signature service - The Privilege Suite.
The Privilege Suite, whose current members consist of industrialists and celebrities, comes with such stringent eligibility criteria that very few people make the cut for its membership. It is unapologetically designed for people with a pedigree of success and affluence, who have a penchant for the finest that life has to offer, and get it.
This service distinguishes itself by elevating personalisation to a whole new level. I am personally involved at crucial stages of the matchmaking, right from starting the search by spending the better part of a day with the member and their family at their home to offering valuable insights along the way.
The idea is to get a sense of their habitat, personal interactions and the culture that prevails so as to connect them with someone who is not only compatible in personality, but also fits in well with their lifestyle.
It is a given that the industrialist families, celebrities, and extremely successful professionals that comprise this tier of membership seek absolute privacy and confidentiality, and we place utmost importance in ensuring the same.
