55 firefighters from Ajman Civil Defense in coordination with firefighters from Dubai, Sharjah, and Umm Al Quwain controlled the massive blaze at Al Jarf area.
The fire engulfed four furniture warehouses on Monday evening at around 8pm. Brigadier Abdel Aziz Ali Shamsi, General Director of the Ajman Civil Defense told Khaleej Times, "The fire was spreading rapidly due to the huge quantity of flammable substance stored at the warehouses. No injuries were caused as the Ajman police and Civil Defense immediately vacated the premises of the warehouses. Large amount of smoke was seen billowing the sky and the whole area around the warehouses was cordoned off to ensure the fire did not spread to neighboring warehouses."
The police closed all roads leading to the warehouses to ensure efficient arrival of fire brigades. The cooling process was completed with 800,000 liters of water and 6,500 liters of foam.
