An 84-year-old Indian man - with a penchant for adventure - has finally added skydiving to his list of feats. His latest achievement took him to Dubai, where he jumped off a plane from 13,000 ft.
"I believe in gathering experience, rather than wealth," 84-year-old Sushil Kumar told Skydive Dubai before making the jump. The Bengaluru resident was on a holiday with his family this week when he decided to go skydiving. Kumar is no stranger to adventure - having trekked the Himalayas and going scuba diving. Age is not an issue for Kumar.
He spoke at length about his feelings before the jump. Once fitted with the safety harness, Kumar was calm, collected, and excited to live the thrill of freefall. "I am told it lasts for only 60 seconds," he said. "However, time is relative, and 60 seconds can feel like one hour."
Skydive Dubai shared a video of his daring leap on their social media handles. The 84-year-old can be seen flying over the Palm Jumeirah.
Commenting on the experience, Kumar said it felt like being in a whirlpool. The old adventurer also considered it to be his best adventure to date.
"I believe in gathering experience, rather than wealth," said 84-year-old Sushil Kumar. Words of wisdom from a man who's lived many an adventure, and can now add a tandem skydive to the top of that list. Thank you for skydiving with us, Sushil, it was an absolute pleasure to share the sky with you. ???? #Inspiration #MyDubai #VisitDubai #SkydiveDubaiView this post on Instagram
