GENEVA – The UAE has emphasised the importance of continuing constructive dialogue between labour recipient and exporting countries under the umbrella of the 'Abu Dhabi Dialogue' as well as supporting the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in achieving fruitful co-operation to address challenges associated with the contractual employment cycle, based on joint responsibility and mutual interest.
Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour and member of the UAE participant delegation at the 104th session of the International Labour Conference, Geneva, said during the ministerial meeting of the Asia-Pacific Group, that the UAE along with all the GCC states are looking forward to enhancing co-operation with Asian labour exporting countries, in which the largest numbers are included within the Abu Dhabi Dialogue, national news agency Wam reported today.
The Abu Dhabi Dialogue aims to introduce a qualitative leap to provide protection for labourers during various stages of contractual employment cycle.
Al Dhaheri expressed the UAE's appreciation for Guy Ryder, ILO Director-General, for his attention to the Asia-Pacific Group as well as his keenness in enhancing co-operation and partnership bonds between the governments of member countries and the ILO.
