Brig. Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harthy, Director of the Directorate of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police, said that the ban on truck traffic would be imposed from 07.00 - 9.30am and 1.00 - 3.00 pm during the whole month of Ramadan.
The ban is to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce accidents during rush hours in the Holy Month.
He added that this arrangement is part of the preparation of a comprehensive traffic plan to reduce causes of traffic accidents. The police will intensify traffic control on internal and external roads and at places where traffic jams normally occur, like market places and commercial centres.
Al Harthy said the plans are part of initiatives during Ramadan and were launched by the Directorate General of Policing Operations of Abu Dhabi Police in co-ordination with the Security Media Department in the General Secretariat of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
He urged drivers to comply with traffic rules and to drive safely to enhance traffic safety during Ramadan.
The event not only celebrated the chapter's annual gathering but also marked a significant milestone as the chapter commemorated its 10th anniversary
