With a longer than usual Eid break this year, malls and entertainment places will be bustling with revellers.

Pakistani national Atif Hameed is looking forward to celebrating Eid with his family.

He said, “Eid is a time when family members get together. We distribute sweets and greet our friends and neighbours.

But on the third day of Eid each year it is a ritual for us to go on a family outing. This year we will be going to Jebel Hafet in Al Ain.”

Dina Tarek, who was out shopping with her sisters and her mother, said, ”As an expatriate family residing in the UAE, we like to celebrate Eid outdoors, at the beach or in a park, but this year the weather is going to make that a little difficult to manage.”

A Russian Muslim living in Dubai, Sayyora Djuraeva, said, “It has been six years since UAE became our home and each year our celebrations are different.

It depends on the group and the number of friends who are getting together for the occasion”.
