In the first incident, a three-year-old Saudi boy was killed after falling from the balcony of his fourth floor apartment in Al Qasimia area. The boy died on the spot.
The boy's parents are in a state of shock and are refusing to talk to anyone. The police, meanwhile, are investigating the incident.
When the police arrived at the scene they found the boy lying in a pool of blood. He was taken to Al Kuwaiti Hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Girl run over
In the other incident, a four-year-old Pakistani girl sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run, also in Al Qasimia area, yesterday morning.
The girl, who was admitted to Qasimi Hospital, is battling for her life. A Sharjah Police source told Khaleej Times that the person who was driving the car and fled the scene, is yet to be identified by the police.
Passers-by who saw the girl lying and bleeding on the road had called the police who rushed the girl to hospital.
