Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-General. His previous rank was Major-General.
The decision was taken by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, "in recognition of his leadership and contributions to making Dubai one of the safest cities in the world," a tweet by the Dubai Media Office said.
Lieutenant General Al Marri has expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed for the trust he has placed on him and his continuous support.
